Why the rota belongs next to the care record

A rota is usually treated as an administrative chore. In a care home it is the document that decides whether there were enough people on the floor when something went wrong, and it is one of the first things asked for afterwards.

CareTime is the rota half of the same system. Because it sits alongside the care record, the question “who was on shift when this happened” has an answer rather than a guess.

Training and supervisionsWho is due what, and who has lapsed, so the chase happens before the certificate expires rather than after.

Who is on nowThe care record knows who is actually on shift, which is what makes handover and alerting work.
